Let’s begin by looking at the Most Serious &
The Most Significant of these errors in Isaiah 53:10-11

As you are about to Learn the Old Testament in our Bibles should primarily be based on the Greek Septuagint: because it was the Old Testament the Early Christians used and represents a much older Hebrew Text than we currently have. It was translated from Hebrew into Greek around 250 BC by 70 Rabbinical Scholars, and that is why it is called “Septuagint”or “The Seventy.”

And in Isaiah 53:10-11 it is a real Eye Opener! (And so, I pray that this article will cause you to have a Paradigm Shift!) Because it reveals that God is far more compassionate than religion has allowed us to believe, (Matthew 23:13) and foretells a conversation the Father would one day have with His Son, as He hung on the Cross. When did this conversation take place? Most likely after Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Here is how Isaiah 53:10-11 reads in the Septuagint: “The Lord desired to cleanse him of the beating. ‘But if YOU give [yourself] for sin; OUR soul will see a long-lived seed.’ The Lord purposed to take away the anguish of his soul, [by] showing him light, to form understanding within him. [Therefore] he has declared righteous the righteous one, who serves many well: because he himself will bear their sins.”

The Father no doubt brought this verse to Light in Jesus’ mind as He hung on the cross, to give Him understanding, to take away the anguish of His Soul, and give Him strength to endure the cross. In this verse the Father is basically telling His Son, “Son, I haven’t forsaken you! In fact, I wish I could take you down from that cross right now and sooth your wounds. But Remember, if you give your life as a ransom, you will bring many sons to glory! And then both of Our Hearts WILL REJOICE WITH JOY THROUGHOUT ETERNITY!”

So the Septuagint gives us a reference to Hebrews 12:2 (we didn’t even know existed!) “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the JOY that was SET BEFORE HIM endured the cross, despising the shame.” (Hebrews 12:2)

Who Set This Joy before Him? The Septuagint reveals that it was the Father! So Isaiah 53:10-11 in the Septuagint is TRULY BEAUTIFUL! Because it reveals both the Father’s Great Love for His Son & His Great Love for Lost Humanity: and adds even greater depth to John 3:16, “For God Loved the world to such an extent: that he freely gave his only born Son; so that whoever trusts in him, wouldn’t perish, but have eternal life!” This is how Isaiah 53:10-11 read in every Christian Bible from the the 1st to 4th Century!

How was this understanding of Isaiah 53:10-11 lost?

It began in the 5th Century AD, when the Roman Catholic Scholar, Jerome, was translating his New Latin Vulgate: up until that time, all Christians world-wide had used a translation of the Septuagint or read the Septuagint itself: because the Greek Orthodox Church has always used the Greek Septuagint and all other Christian Bibles had been translated directly for the Septuagint; including the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible and the Old Latin Vulgates.

But Jerome decided to break with the Church’s Universal Standard: and instead translated his Old Testament from the Jewish Bible. But what Jerome didn't realize was that the Jewish Text had been Altered by the Pharisees between 200 BC and 200 AD! (Which I will DOCUMENT later in this article.) Many devote Roman Catholics criticized Jerome for abandoning the Septuagint, because by doing so he altered the meaning of many Scriptures! But Jerome insisted that since the Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, we should translate the Old Testament from the Hebrew Text, to produce a more accurate transition. (Over the centuries that followed, more Catholics began reading his version: and over time the readings in the Older Latin Vulgates were forgotten.)

And ever since Bible translators have followed Jerome’s example: So that’s why even Good Bible Translations like the New America Standard Bible, read in Isaiah 53:10-11, “THE LORD DESIRED TO CRUSH HIM, CAUSING HIM GRIEF; if He renders Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and BE SATISFIED; by His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, for He will bear their wrongdoings.”

And sadly, since Christians today, do not know what the Original Christian Bibles of the Early Church read: even Good & Honest Pastors blaspheme God from their pulpits, Sunday after Sunday, by teaching, “God poured out His wrath on Jesus on the cross!” If you are one of those pastors, the Good News is God is much more wonderful than you have even dared to imagine! And if you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you God’s Gospel, from His Perspective, your sermons will become even more powerful and compelling than before! Remember, Scripture teaches, “It’s the GOODNESS of God that causes [people] to change [their] mind.” (Romans 2:4)

If anyone would know how the Father felt the day they crucified His Son: that would be Jesus! And according to Jesus’ own words; the Father found NO DELIGHT in His death, but rather He was enraged by it!

So let’s read Jesus’ own words, and SEE how the Father felt: “Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ But when the vine-dressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and seize his inheritance.’ So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-dressers?” They answered Him, “He will miserably destroy those wicked men!” (Matthew 21:37-41)

And that’s exactly what the Father did in 70 AD, He sent the Roman Legions and wiped the nation of Israel off of the face of the map for 2000 years! And that’s why “Jesus wept over Jerusalem,” because they did not recognize the time of their Visitation! So the Father DEFINITELY WASN’T PLEASED by the death of His Son! So to say and teach “THE LORD DESIRED TO CRUSH HIM, CAUSING HIM GRIEF’ & ‘He will see it and BE SATISFIED!” IS BLASPHEMOUS! Because it’s the exact opposite of God’s Nature & Character: which is “LOVE!”

Concerning the Crucifixion: the very first prophecy in the Bible, Clearly States that it would be THE DEVIL who would pour out his wrath on the Son, not the Father! “He (Jesus) will crush your head, and YOU will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)

Although Jerome was the first to insert this error into the Christian Bible: this false doctrine that “God pouring out is wrath on Jesus on the cross,” wasn’t actually taught until the close of 11th Century AD. When in 1094 the Roman Catholic Philosopher, Anselm of Canterbury, published his book “Cur Deus Homo“ (Why God Became A Man) in which he sought to discredit “Ransom Atonement Theory” (which was still the universally accepted Atonement Theory at that time) and replace it with his New “Satisfaction Atonement Theory.” And that's why Anselm doesn’t quote Isaiah 53:10-11 in his book: because he knew this verse would be a “Hot Button Topic!” because some people were still aware of the True Reading. So he covertly used the “Feudalism System” of his time (instead of the Scriptures) to sell his New Theory.

Sadly, Anselm was able to sell his theory to the Pope: because by using the Feudalism System as the bases for the arguments; it also helped establish the Pope’s absolute authority over all of the Roman Catholic Empire. And so it became official Roman Catholic Dogma. Then after his death, the Roman Catholic Church granted Anselm Sainthood for his work.

But the Greek Orthodox & Ethiopian Orthodox Churches considered Anselm’s theory, “Heresy!” Because it wasn’t based on any Scriptures, but instead contradicted many Scriptures; especially Isaiah 53:10-11 in their Bibles: therefore they rejected Anselm’s Theory as “Heresy!”

Later in the 15th Century, because this “Angry God Gospel” was Roman Catholic Dogma: young Martin Luther lived in constant fear that his sins would send him to hell; until decades later he finally realized, “By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” But he had been so indoctrinated by “The Angry God Gospel,” that he still believed, “God must be appeased by something!” So to try and reconcile his New Found Faith in “God’s Grace” with this old Catholic Dogma that he had been taught: and he came up with the Penal Atonement Theory; but Luther was an honest man, so he admitted, “It is only a Theory.”

But ever since, a majority of the Protestant Churches have taught it as an Absolute Fact! And because of that, they have taken many verses out of context to promote what is actually a false doctrine; and they have actually mistranslated a few key verses, to make the Bible appear to agree with this false theory: like the Jehovah Witnesses do today.

Let's Compare the Septuagint with the Hebrew Text:
And see for ourselves which is actually more trustworthy?

(Matthew 21:16 & Hosea 6:6) ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have perfected praise.’
HT: “From the mouths of babies and infants at the breast you have established strength.”
Did Jesus misquote this Scripture? Of course not: He is ‘The Author’ of the Bible! And in context, this verse deals with “Praise,” not “strength.” So the Hebrew Text is wrong, not Jesus!

(Psalm 22:16) “They pierced my hands and feet."
HT: "Like a lion they mauled my hands and feet."

(Matthew 1:23 & Isaiah 7:14) “Behold, the virgin shall be with child,”
HT: “Look, the young woman is with child,”

(Romans 10:5 & Psalm 40:6) “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.”
HT: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You gave me to understand.”

There are far too many of these discrepancies in the Hebrew Text to list here: but out of the 418 New Testament Quotations & References to Old Testament passages; Around 81% align more closely with the Septuagint. Around 10% match both. But only about 8% align with our Modern Hebrew Text.  And it’s interesting to note: most of these discrepancies occur in the Book of Isaiah: Which is proof that the devil tried to alter the text in the Book of Isaiah, more than in any other, because of all the Old Testament Books: the Book of Isaiah reveals God’s Plan of Salvation Most Clearly! So it makes absolutely no sense! Why are we using a text that was Altered by the Pharisees, as the Base Text for the Old Testament, in our Christian Bibles? Especially since it has such a low score of only 8% when it comes to accuracy?

Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!” (John 8:32) So please watch this short 32 minute video! It provides UNDENIABLE PROOF that the Pharisees altered the genealogy in Genesis Chapter 11 to try to prove that Jesus could not be a New High Priest in the Order of Melchizedek, as the Early Christians were proclaiming. By altering the time line in Genesis they were attempting to prove that Melchizedek was actually Shem, and that he had passed the Priesthood down through bloodline to Levi; an agreement the Jews still use to this day. But by doing so they distorted our understanding of biblical events, and gave atheists a way to attack the Bible as being inaccurate. This video shows the great lengths that the Pharisees went to try to discredit the Greek Septuagint; because Christians were using it as a Powerful Witnessing Tool!

After making this and many other changes to the Jewish Bible, their Scribes made copies, and sent them out to all of the Jewish Synagogues; so that their Rabbis could claim that the Septuagint was full of errors (even though the Septuagint had been widely accepted and praised by all of the Jews for over 200 years!) So sadly, the Old Testament we currently have in our English Bibles, is actually “The Authorized Version of the Pharisees!”

THE BIG LIE!

Satan has sold this lie to the Academic World, and so it is taught in most of our Institutions of Higher Learning: “Christians altered the Greek Septuagint, to try to prove that Jesus was the Messiah; so we must go back to the Hebrew, to discover what the True Readings actually are.” THIS LIE makes early Christians out to be “Deceivers” and the First Century Jews (who rejected Christ) “The Guardians of Truth!”

But the Exact Opposite is “True!” As the following quotation from “The Cross Bible Project” will show; they are working hard to try to correct these error, with their New Online Bible Software @ crossbible.com (The following quotation is from their YouTube video, “Greek Old Testament: Exploring the Septuagint & Dead Sea Scrolls with Cross Bible.”) “THE ORIGINAL HEBREW TEXTS used for those translations are no longer extant, meaning that most of them are lost, PRESERVED ONLY IN GREEK, with the exception of key Hebrew fragments recovered from the Dead Sea Scrolls. So, why did this IMPORTANT VERSION of the Hebrew Bible simply disappear? By the 1st Century AD, ANOTHER FORM of the Hebrew Bible that was preferred by the PHARISAIC SECT of Judaism began to emerge… [it] eventually SUPPLANTED THE HEBREW VERSION behind the Septuagint."

As Christians, if we ever hope to have an Old Testament that is Close To The One that Jesus and the Apostles used: “What must we do?”

We Must First Reject “THE BIG LIE!” That “Jesus the Apostles misquoted the Scriptures.” And accept their qualifications as 100% accurate! And place them in our Old Testament where they belong.

Secondly: when various copies of the Septuagint are not in complete agreement, we must chose the reading which most closely agrees with the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.

Thirdly: we must prefer the Byzantine Septuagints over the 4th Century Alexandrian Septuagints: which were altered to make them agree with Origen’s Critical Text "The Hexapla" which favored the Hebrew Text: and therefore are not faithful copies of any Early Septuagint Manuscript!

The Jesus Movement of my generation was unique, unlike any other revival in Church History; it didn’t start within the Church, but among un-churched rebels and hippies from the 1960’s and 70’s, who had questioned all authority and everything we had been taught. Yet we fully submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ; because in Him we found the Truth and Love we had been searching for! So the Good News the Jesus People proclaimed wasn’t based upon church traditions, but solely on the Bible itself! Because like the Apostle Paul, “[We] didn’t received it from man, nor [were we] taught it, but [we] received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 1:12)

They called us “Jesus People” because JESUS was all we talked about! Because JESUS is like a multifaceted Diamond! There's so much Light and Beauty in Him, there is a lot about Jesus to Love! So we simply “Declared the manly virtues of Him who called us out of darkness, into His Marvelous Light!” (1 Peter 2:9) We didn’t focus on peoples sins, but on God’s Love! Because if people truly fall in Love with Jesus; that will take care of the sin problem: because Jesus taught, "The one who LOVES ME WILL KEEP FOCUSED ON MY COMMANDMENTS, but the on who DOESN'T LOVE ME, WON'T!" (See John 14:23-24 & Matthew 10:37-38)

SO IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO ‘LOVE!’

As our Jesus Movement Grew: some traditional denominations joined with us in witnessing, and we welcomed them as brothers & sisters in Christ: but what we didn’t realize was that they had a hidden agenda; they wanted to proselyte us & take over the Jesus Movement! (Which they did, as Time Magazine points out.)

I also fell into this trap; because I wanted to become a more effective witness for Jesus: so when Bill Bri- ght’s Campus Crusade for Christ came to town, I joined with them. And over the years that followed, I read many books on traditional evangelism, and I tried to blend these 2 gospels together: but you really can’t blend “The Angry God” & “God is Love” gospels together without twisting Scriptures!

One day as I was reading in Revelation Chapter 2, the Lord Jesus spoke directly to me, “Why are you teaching lies in My Name? Because you KNOW that some of the things you are saying aren’t actually true? Therefore, I have this against you; because you have LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE! Remember from where you have Fallen, and do your first works over again!” My heart was shaken to its very core!

So began my Quest to:
‘Return to My First Love & to
See The Jesus Movement Re-Born!’

But the Lord showed me that the only way that this could happen, was if I produced a Bible Translation that didn’t use religious terminology, but simply translated the Literal Meaning Greek Words had in the 1st Century! Because over the centuries theologians have redefined the meaning of some key words; to make the Bible ‘appear to agree’ with their theories: like the Jehovah Witnesses do today! (2 Chronicles 15:3) So The Only Way to Restore the True Gospel & The Unity of The Faith: was not to use Religious Words at all! But to simply TRANSLATE THE MEANING THESE WORDS HAD IN THE 1ST CENTURY, and let the Holy Spirit be our Teacher! (1 John 2:27 & Jeremiah 31:34) So that is what this translation seeks to do!
